Summary of Position
The Accounts Payable Team Leader is responsible for supervising the accounts payable team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor reconciliation. This role involves managing day-to-day AP operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Essential Functions
- Ensure all invoices and T&E claims are processed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Oversee payment runs (weekly/monthly) and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Maintain and reconcile the AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Manage vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies or disputes efficiently.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex AP and T&E issues, collaborating with other departments to drive resolution and enhance service delivery.
- Review and analyze AP aging reports, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations (e.g., VAT, withholding tax) and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing inquiries.
- Drive continuous improvement of AP processes, including automation and streamlining opportunities, support policy, system, and process development.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and other AP performance metrics for senior management.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the AP team by setting clear objectives, coaching, and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure team members have the tools, training, and support needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Support integration projects and project management activities related to Accounts Payable and T&E within Curium.
- Perform other duties as delegated or assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 1–2 years (preferred) in a supervisory or team lead role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of AP processes and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in the health care industry is a plus.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Fluent English. Additional languages are an advantage

- Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment.
- Knowledge of automation tools and process improvement methodologies.
