Summary of Position
Material and Stock Management Specialist is responsible for managing material planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, and contract manufacturing processes in alignment with production plans and sales objectives. This role ensures the uninterrupted flow of materials, optimizes stock levels and costs, and maintains effective coordination between supply chain, production, warehouse, quality, and logistics functions.
The position requires strong analytical capabilities, hands-on experience with MRP and ERP systems, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence within a regulated and dynamic environment.
Essential Functions
- Managing the procurement, inventory, and supply processes of raw materials, semi-finished products, and packaging materials in line with production plans
- Analyzing MRP outputs, creating necessary requisitions, and monitoring lead times
- Ensuring domestic and international sales are carried out in a way that maximizes customer satisfaction while aligning with company objectives
- Conducting product-based stock tracking
- Managing the supply process dynamically in line with budget targets
- Planning and overseeing contract manufacturer (fason) production
- Preparing, monitoring, and executing KPIs followed by the department
- Continuously monitoring stock levels and determining/updating safety stock quantities
- Ensuring coordination between material requirement plans and the production program
- Working closely with warehouse, production, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow
- Analyzing stock discrepancies and verifying records in SAP or relevant ERP systems
- Contributing to cost improvement projects and continuous development of supply processes
- Coordinating with related departments on customs, logistics, and import processes
- Conducting year-end, interim, and monthly inventory counts
- Participating in internal and external audits
- Ensuring compliance with quality system requirements
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, planning, or materials management (Experience in pharmaceutical, nuclear technology, or chemical industries is an advantage)
- Proficiency in SAP MM, SD, PP modules or experience with similar ERP systems
- Knowledge of MRP processes and inventory management
- Ability to perform reporting and use data analysis tools effectively with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Strong planning, communication, and coordination skills
- Adaptable to a dynamic work environment, result-oriented, and a team player
- Residing or willing to reside on the Asian side of Istanbul or in Kocaeli/Gebze
