Summary of Position

The Associate Quality Control Technician is responsible for picking up and delivering samples to the appropriate location in compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements under the direction of trained personnel. Support will be provided for all groups at the site. A valid driver's license is required as deliveries will be made between buildings in the QC van. Responsible for maintaining the QC sample reserves.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm

Essential Functions

  • Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOP’s.
  • Pick-up and delivery of samples and documents to Quality Control testing laboratories.
  • Maintain Quality Control reserve samples.
  • Driving from building to building.
  • Document tasks performed in appropriate logbooks, maintain and organize reserve room.
  • Maintain appropriate dress code to include use of proper safety equipment.
  • Waste handling and removal from the Quality Control Laboratories.
  • These tasks are performed on an as needed basis and can vary depending on departmental needs.
  • Report any cGMP and safety deficiencies, such as omissions from logbooks, deviations from procedures, safety concerns, and inappropriate behavior.
  • Certain information viewed on site, such as logbooks and standard operating procedures, can be considered confidential.
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of a manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with a cGMP environment and capable of following safety requirements and site procedures.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and able to perform varied manual task.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment. 
  • Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties. 
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all temperatures with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
