Summary of Position
As a Senior Facilities Technician, you will operate CNC equipment, plasma cutters, 3D printers, and welding equipment to support the manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical components within cGMP environments supporting Production, Quality, R&D, NPI, and Maintenance functions across the site. This role is responsible for machine setup, execution and adjustment of CNC programs, precision inspection, troubleshooting support, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm
Essential Functions
- Perform CNC machine setup, operation, and adjustment of existing G-code programs for mill and lathe operations.
- Operate plasma cutters, 3D printers, and welding equipment for component preparation, fabrication, and assembly.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other metrology equipment, document results in accordance with SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to manufacture parts meeting required specifications.
- Support first-article setups, assist with troubleshooting machine issues, and contribute to improvements in cycle times, tooling efficiency, and workflow.
- Follow machine, welding, and facility safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Ensure production records, inspection logs, and associated documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).
Requirements
- Three or more years of precision machining or related experience required (CNC fabrication in regulated environments preferred).
- Hands-on experience with CNC setup, machine operation, and basic G-code modification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in medical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries preferred.
- Working knowledge of cGMP requirements, SOP adherence, and regulatory documentation practices.
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
- Familiarity with metrology equipment and additive manufacturing workflows.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
- Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.
- Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.
- Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
- Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
- Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
- Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
