Summary of Position

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to be responsible for the accounting operations of one or more legal entities. This includes the maintenance of accounting records and internal control processes, production of monthly financial and regulatory reporting, and coordination of the annual financial and regulatory audits. This role also ensures that company accounting policies and procedures conform to financial and regulatory reporting requirements. A successful Financial Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports. Financial Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
 
Fixed-term contract for two years (Maternity cover).

Essential Functions

  • Manage all financial accounting activities for business operations within EMEA Region
  • Perform month-end closing activities such as account reconciliation, revenue accounting, expense accounting, etc.
  • Prepare VAT returns for review by Senior Accountant or Manager/Supervisor if applicable
  • Close cooperation with internal and external partners (auditors, tax advisors, local authorities, other departments of the company and others)
  • Provide technical support in the preparation of corporation tax compliance (e.g., gathering data, preparing calculations), including liaison with advisors  
  • Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles        
  • Support involvement in European and Global projects, mainly through testing activities        
  • Cooperate with other financial functions cross company, especially AP, Cash collection and Local finance teams          
  • Preparation of internal and external reporting, including performing internal controls

Requirements

  • High-school Education in Accounting/University degree in Finance
  • 3 years of accounting/tax or audit experience (total -1 years in AP, AR and 2 years in GL or 3 years GL)
  • Experience with reporting of IFRS
  • Experience with VAT returns preparation -basic knowledge
  • Experience being first point of contact for auditors
  • Strong written and spoken English, additional languages are an advantage
  • Ability to independently resolve moderate to complex problems
  • Experienced Microsoft Excel user
  • Oracle E1 and HFM experience is an advantage
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines under supervision
