Summary of Position
The BI & Data Analytics Solution Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end analytical solutions that support informed decision-making across the organization, with a strong focus on Power BI. The role sits within the Global Applications team and works in close collaboration with business stakeholders and IT teams.
The successful candidate will take ownership of full solution delivery—from requirements gathering, data modeling, and ETL alignment to report development and deployment. They will also contribute to the evolution of BI standards, promote best practices, and support continuous improvement of analytics capabilities within the company.
Essential Functions
Solution Analysis and Design
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, challenge, and refine reporting and analytics requirements.
- Design end-to-end BI solutions according to business needs ensuring alignment with overall data architecture.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of BI standards, documentation practices, and solution design guidelines.
- Work collaboratively within the team, taking on tasks during busy periods, assisting colleagues, and providing guidance to other staff members as needed.
Project Delivery
- Collaborate with project teams to plan and execute the implementation of BI and data-related solutions, including solution design, testing, documentation, and end-user onboarding.
- Work with business teams, IT and vendors to define or adjust ETL processes and data flows required for reporting.
- Contribute to change management activities such as user adoption, process documentation, and communication plans, ensuring successful rollout of new solutions.
Application Management
- Maintain Power BI semantic models and reports with a focus on performance, scalability, and usability.
- Ensure data quality, resolve complex data or refresh issues, and analyze root causes across source systems and data transformations.
- Drive improvements in BI governance, including consistent modeling standards, documentation quality, and report lifecycle practices.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data processes, automate tasks, or enhance existing BI solutions.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on reporting, analytics, and data modeling topics.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and solution demonstrations.
- Design and deliver comprehensive end-user training programs that enable teams to effectively use Power BI as a self-service analytics tool and drive broader analytical maturity.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, documentation standards, and relevant IT procedures.
Requirements
Must have Experience/Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions end-to-end (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, visual design, deployment).
- Solid understanding of data warehouse and dimensional modeling concepts (fact/dimension tables, star schema).
- Understanding of ETL processes and the ability to collaborate on required data transformations.
- Understanding of SQL sufficient to read queries, explore data, or validate logic.
- Ability to gather, challenge, and refine business requirements and translate them into solution designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in English. French is an advantage.
Nice to have Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Azure analytics components (Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse) or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with Power Automate or workflow automation tools.
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
- Knowledge of BI governance or semantic model design best practices.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience
