Summary of Position

We are looking for a Junior Financial Accountant to support the accounting operations of one or more legal entities. This includes assisting with the maintenance of accounting records, preparing basic journal entries, supporting month-end activities, and helping with financial and regulatory audits. The role also involves learning and applying company accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

 

A successful Junior Financial Accountant demonstrates attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a basic understanding of accounting principles while developing analytical and technical skills under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Junior Financial Accountant duties also include providing support to senior accountants and ensuring accuracy in assigned accounting tasks.

 

Fixed-term contract for two years (Maternity cover).

Essential Functions

  • Support financial accounting activities for business operations within EMEA Region
  • Assist with month-end closing activities such as basic reconciliations, revenue and expense entries
  • Provide technical support in the preparation of VAT returns (e.g., extracting data and compiling them in Excel)
  • Cooperate with internal and external partners (auditors, other departments)
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and audits, ensuring deadlines are met with guidance from senior colleagues/managers
  • Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles under supervision
  • Support cross-company cooperation with other finance functions, especially AP, AR, Cash Collection, and Local Finance teams
  • Work closely with other finance colleagues, providing support and learning accounting principles in practice
  • Assist with the completion of internal and external reporting as required

Requirements

  • High-school Education in Accounting/University degree in Finance
  • 2 years of experience in accounting (preferably in AP or AR, not necessarily GL)
  • Experience in cooperating with auditors
  • Strong written and spoken English, additional languages are an advantage
  • Proactive approach with willingness to identify and help resolve issues
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic financial formulas, pivot tables, filters)
  • Oracle E1 and HFM experience is an advantage
